There is a beautiful tradition in our family. When we buy a big quantity of nuts, the elders of our family put the nuts in a very big plate and start to clean and "dastchin" them. Dastchin means "to select them one by one by hand" so they select the best nuts one by one and then they give the best ones to their children & keep the rest for themselves. I find this small family tradition very pleasant and lovely to share with you, I am sure every Iranian family have lots of them. Yesterday i made myself this lovely and fresh salad, adding gorgonzola cheese, salt, black pepper, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar and my grandma and aunt 's "Dastchin" walnuts which they prepare it just for me. You can add some slice of pear or apple too. It's fresh and adding some walnuts, pear and gorgonzola will make it more an autumn dish. Hope you enjoy it | Love | Noghlemey |
